Warming up a new YouTube account
How warm-up applies to YouTube Shorts, why the channel/account split matters, and what Ember supports today.
Automated warm-up is not live here yet. You can add accounts for this platform and build and review niche queues, but Ember cannot yet dispatch activity to it — the cloud-phone automation currently covers TikTok only. This page describes the approach, not a shipped feature.
The account and the channel are different things
On YouTube, the Google account that watches videos and the channel that publishes them are related but distinct. Watch history belongs to the account. This is genuinely useful: the viewing profile you build is attached to the account doing the watching, and the channel publishes from it.
How Shorts recommendation differs
Shorts are recommended in a feed comparable to TikTok's, but YouTube has vastly more signal about a Google account than TikTok typically has about a new user — search history, subscriptions, long- form watch time. A warm-up therefore has more surfaces to work with, and long-form watching in the same topic is a meaningful signal, not just Shorts.
What the approach would be
- Watch both Shorts and some long-form content in the target topic.
- Subscribe to a small number of channels in the niche.
- Keep the account's search activity consistent with the niche, since search is a strong stated-interest signal.
What you can do in Ember today
As with Instagram: add the account, build and review a queue, but dispatch is not automated yet. The cloud-phone automation currently covers TikTok only.
